The 2020 Indian Premier League final will see Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians go head to head in Dubai on Tuesday. The Mumbai Indians are going for their fifth IPL title but can the Capitals upset the odds in their first final appearance?

The Delhi Capitals finished second in on the IPL table, behind the Mumbai Indians. In the first qualifier the Capitals lost to Mumbai which meant they had to face the Sunrisers Hyderabad to reach the final.

The Capitals won the toss in Abu Dhabi and elected to bat first. They moved Marcus Stoinis up the order and the Australian scored 38 off 27 balls. His opening partner, Shikhar Dhawan top scored with 78 runs to set up a total of 189 runs.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad were in the game until Kagiso Rabada came in to take four wickets, three of which were in the penultimate over. In the end the Delhi Capitals won by 17 runs to reach their first ever Indian Premier League final.

The Delhi Capitals have been very reliant on certain players and that will be the case again on Tuesday. Marcus Stoinis will surely open the batting alongside Dhawan again after impressing in the playoff.

Mumbai Indians Form

The Mumbai Indians will have plenty of confidence going into the final on Tuesday. They not only topped the 2020 IPL table, but also beat the Delhi Capitals three times this season. On top of that Mumbai are going for their fifth Indian Premier League title.

Mumbai’s last match was against the Capitals in Dubai where they batted first and scored 200 runs. Ishan Kishan continued his superb form with 55 runs while Quinton de Kock smashed 40 off 25 balls at the top of the innings.

Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah took two and four wickets respectively to ensure the Capitals were never really in with a chance of winning. Eventually the Mumbai Indians ran out winners by 57 runs.
