There have been some really engrossing battles between Chennai and Rajasthan over the years with the Super Kings edging the ledger 15-12. Yet, it is the Royals who have won four of the last five matches.

Tushar Deshpande with five wickets has been Chennai’s best bowler although in reality it’s their spinners ruling the roost with Moeen Ali, Mitchell Santner and Ravindra Jadeja taking 11 wickets between them.

The openers have been destructive for Rajasthan with Jos Buttler scoring 152 runs so far while Yashasvi Jaiswal aggregating 125. Even Sanju Samson and Shimron Hetmyer are clocking well with 97 runs each.

With the ball, it is Yuzvendra Chahal with eight wickets who has been leading their charge. Trent Boult’s five wickets have been crucial too with the seamer owning powerplays.

Spin conditions could see the Royals bring Murugan Ashwin straight into the playing XI rather than Asif. There’s also an outside chance of Adam Zampa getting a game with Chennai conditions likely to suit his bowling.
