Captain David Warner has been their lone batting ranger with 158 runs in the tournament, although coming at a snail pace of 117.03 strike rate. None of the others could score more than 54.

Bowling has been equally low-key with no bowler taking more than Khaleel Ahmed’s three wickets.

Khaleel Ahmed was injured in the previous game and remains to be seen if he can be fit for this match. Prithvi Shaw and Manish Pandey remain uncertain of their places after poor performances.

Starting in their usual slow manner, Mumbai Indians fell to consecutive losses. They lost to Bangalore by 8 wickets and then to arch rivals Chennai by 7 wickets.

Only Tilak Varma has been able to find some batting form for Mumbai with 106 runs. Among others, only Ishan Kishan’s 42 runs is the most, with 32 of those coming in the previous match.

It gets worse with the bowling as Mumbai were able to pick up only five wickets this season. Even Jofra Archer is unable to lead a pack that is struggling to hold itself.

Bowling could warrant a serious shuffle as the likes of Riley Meredith and Duan Jansen are waiting in the wings. Even Dewald Brevis may fancy his chances of replacing Cameron Green as a batter.
