IPL 2023 Betting Tips and Preview

As the month of March comes to an end, the curtains will rise on one of the biggest franchise cricket tournaments in the world. The 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set to take the world by storm for a period of nearly two months.

  • Gujarat Titans to retain the crown
  • Jos Buttler best batter
  • Harry Brook top Sunrisers Hyderabad batter

There are a lot of changes this season with the new ‘impact player’ rule set to make the game innovative and interesting. There are also changes to the DRS reviews with the teams now able to challenge the contentious wide and no-ball calls. The teams are now given a chance to announce their XIs after toss which means each captain could be walking out with two team sheets! Combined with the changes to team rosters after the player auction, this IPL promises to be bigger and better.

This gives us a chance to look ahead to see what could be the IPL 2023 Betting Tips. Here are our top three takes in our IPL 2023 Betting Tips and Preview.

Gujarat Titans to retain the crown

Little wonder that the Titans are the hot favourites to retain their crown as their squad looks very solid on paper. Already boasting of two of the best contemporary T20 players in Hardik Pandya and Rashid Khan, the Gujarat Titans were a hit at the recent auction.

They added Shivam Mavi to their bowling stable giving them extra bite in the middle overs. There’s also the Irish bowling sensation Josh Little who could be a wild trump-card. The best of the lot has to be Kane Williamson who can be their anchor batter.

Weaknesses? It’s a long tournament and they could be stretched if Matthew Wade or Wriddhiman Saha fail to grab their chances as their ‘keeper. Also, the second season blues for the likes of Abhinav Manohar, Sai Sudarshan or Yash Dayal could pull them down.

Overall, the Titans look a good bet to be early favourites for the IPL 2023 crown.

Jos Buttler best batter

There’s very little that Buttler can do wrong in this format! Especially when he opens, because the right-hander can be devastating in the powerplay, consolidating in the middle overs and destructive at the end.

The Rajasthan Royals batter ended as the top batter last season and the Orange Cap, so this isn’t new territory for him. Buttler scored 863 runs last season at a whopping average of 57.53 and SR of 149.05. Even if he misses a few games, he makes it up with these huge numbers.

It's very tough to predict how a player can be consistent over a long tournament like IPL, but Buttler defies all logic. He can once again be in the reckoning to scoop the Orange Cap.

Harry Brook top Sunrisers Hyderabad batter

There are few batters who captured attention on world cricket in recent times than Harry Brook. He fitted into their BazBall ethos of Test cricket, but it is the T20 format that he began his career with. The 24-year-old has a T20 World Cup to his name, four Test hundreds and is ready to take the IPL by storm.

The Sunrisers have traditionally struggled for impact players and Brook could be the perfect fit for them. With new captain Aiden Markram at the helm, Brook will have the license to express himself. We believe he’s all set to storm to the top of their batting charts.
