As Lucknow Super Giants made their debut only last year, there have only been two matches against Delhi Capitals. Both were won by Lucknow side.

Quinton de Kock scored 80 as Lucknow chased down 150 in the 20th over in the first of those matches. Mohsin Khan then took four wickets to give them a six-run victory in the second match. Both these players are missing in action in this match for Lucknow.

Delhi finished 5th in the group stages last season with seven wins and seven losses. They were very close to making it to the playoffs, but in the end missed out for the first time since 2018.

This year, they signed Phil Salt and Rilee Rossouw to strengthen their batting. David Warner has been named as the team captain after Rishabh Pant’s horrific accident ruled him out of the season.

While questions remain over Pant’s replacement as a ‘keeper, they are likely to go with Sarfaraz Khan’s part-time ability while Abhishek Porel is signed as a replacement.
