Both Rajasthan and Punjab started their campaigns in positive fashion with wins over Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders respectively. It is the Royals though who had an upper hand recently against the Kings. I am backing the Royals to continue their brisk starts and putting my money on Rajasthan scoring more powerplay runs.

Head to Head
There have been 24 matches so far between the Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings so far in the IPL. Of these, there have been 14 wins for the Royals and 10 wins for the Kings.
Last season, it was the Royals who prevailed with a six-wicket win in a 190-run chase that went to the last over. Yuzvendra Chahal was the highest wicket-taker with three, while Yashasvi Jaiswal led the charge with 68 runs for Rajasthan.
Rajasthan Royals Form
The Royals started their season emphatically with a 72-run win over Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday in Hyderabad. Jos Buttler was the player of the match for his smashing 54 off just 22 balls.
There were 50s for Jaiswal and Sanju Samson too as the Royals posted 203/5 while batting first. That proved to be too much for the Sunrisers who scored only 131/8.
Chahal was the best bowler for the Royals with 4/17 while Trent Boult was again majestic in the powerplay with 2/21.
Rajasthan Royals Team News
The Royals could play the same team with Buttler, Boult, Hetmyer and Holder the four foreigners. Navdeep Saini was the impact sub last time out, but if they bowl first he could come into the team in place of Jaiswal.
Punjab Kings Form
Punjab Kings started their campaign with a seven-run win by DLS method against Kolkata Knight Riders at Mohali on Saturday. Arshdeep Singh was the player of the match with figures of 3/19 from three overs.
Batting first, the Kings made 191/5 with Bhanuka Rajapaksa’s brisk 50 off 32 the highlight. There were contributions all around for Punjab.
The Knight Riders stuttered in the chase but the real blow came just before heavens opened up after 16 overs. KKR lost two wickets in the space of the last seven balls, which proved to be counter-productive.
Punjab Kings Team News
Punjab used Sikandar Raza, Sam Curran, Bhanuka Rajapaksa and Nathan Ellis as their foreign players while Rishi Dhawan was the impact sub. They may resort to another impact player, someone like Kaverappa.

This Rajasthan Royals vs Punjab Kings IPL match is being played at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati at 7:30pm IST on Wednesday, April 5.
Rajasthan Royals have the firepower to make their batting powerplay count. To go with that, Trent Boult’s bowling gives them luxury with their bowling powerplay. I am backing this trend to continue and see Rajasthan Royals post the highest powerplay score in this match.
With the tournament offering new rules like impact player, keep an eye on who’s getting in and out during the substitution process. That could decide your intra-game picks.
