Barbados Royals vs St Kitts and Nevis Patriots Preview
These two sides were the bottom feeders in 2020 and will look to drastically improve. They both have some quality players but the Royals have the edge for me. I am backing the Royals to win.

Head to Head
St Kitts and Nevis Patriots lead the Barbados Royals 3-2 in their last five matches. In the 2020 edition of the Caribbean Premier League they won one each, with the Patriots winning the last match by six wickets.
Barbados Royals Form
The Barbados Royals had a poor 2020 CPL, winning just three of their 10 matches as they finished second from bottom. This was particularly disappointing as they came into the tournament as defending champions having claimed the title in 2019.
Over the course of the eight years since the tournament started the Barbados-based outfit has reached the final on three occasions – winning it in 2014 and 2019. They finished as the runner-up in 2015.
On paper the Royals have a very good side. They should feature near the top this season.
Barbados Royals Team News
The Barbados Royals have made some very good signings for this season. Local talent that includes Kyle Mayers, Jason Holder, Shai Hope and Oshane Thomas should wet the appetite of supporters.
Other international stars include New Zealander Glenn Phillips, Mohammad Amir and their latest signing, Jake Lintott.
St Kitts and Nevis Patriots Form
St Kitts and Nevis Patriots only managed one victory in their 10 matches last season. They finished comfortably at the bottom of the table.
This season brings new hope especially when you consider that the entire tournament will be played in St Kitts. The Patriots have made it to the final on one previous occasion, that was in 2017 when they lost to the Knight Riders.
In general St Kitts and Nevis Patriots have been underwhelming but the bookies are giving them a chance on home soil in 2021.
St Kitts and Nevis Patriots Team News
The Patriots have a team capable of challenging this season. They will however need a few of their big guns to hit the ground running.
Chris Gayle is one of the finest T20 batsmen, even at 40-years-old he still poses a great threat. Along with him, Sheldon Cottrell has proven himself a fine short format bowler.
Dwayne Bravo is another with plenty of experience from T20 leagues around the world.
