After a keenly fought T20I series that ended at level pegging, England and New Zealand brace themselves for a four-ODI series. The first ODI will be played at the Sophia Gardens in Cardiff, Wales on Friday from 5pm IST onwards.

Both teams have their plans set on finding the right combinations for the upcoming World Cup. England have some key decisions to make but more than anything, their full-fledged first choice team will be on the ground after a long time. New Zealand lived true to its tag of underdogs, scripting a comeback from 2-0 down to end the T20I series 2-2. They could be looking to stun the hosts once again, in a different format.

The Kiwis last played this format in May when they were beaten 4-1 by Pakistan. Much like the hosts, the visitors are looking at this series to check their combinations.

Actual skipper Kane Williamson is still rehabilitating and hence Tom Latham will be the stand-in skipper for the Kiwis.

The return of Trent Boult strengthens the side as the Kiwis have a rich pool of fast bowlers to choose from. That could mean a place on the bench for Adam Milne and Matt Henry.
