England vs Pakistan 3rd ODI Preview & Tips

England have been all over Pakistan in the first two ODIs. That trend is backed to continue with the hosts tipped for a 3-0 whitewash.

England have won six of their last seven ODI matches against Pakistan. England lead the current series 2-0 after beating Pakistan by 52 runs at Lord’s in the 2nd ODI.

England lead the series 2-0 after winning the 2nd ODI at Lord’s by 52 runs. Phil Salt hit 60 off just 54 balls but England did lose Dawid Malan and Zak Crawley early.

It was left to James Vince (56) along with Salt to put England in a decent position. Lewis Gregory added 40 runs towards the end of the innings to take the hosts to a respectable 247 after 50 overs.

The English bowlers once again dominated, in particular Saqib Mahmood. He was their best bowler in the 1st ODI and this time took 2-21 in eight overs. Lewis Gregory took 3-44 in eight as Pakistan were all out for 195 runs in 41 overs.

The second string England side is performing well in the absence of the usual stars. If there are any changes to their side it will be minimal.

Coming into the series Pakistan would have been reasonably confident that they could be competitive. Once the entire England first choice side was ruled out, they would be have been confident of victory.

Unfortunately the tourists have failed miserably thus far. After being hammered in the 1st ODI, they lost the 2nd ODI by 52 runs at Lord’s.

It went well with the ball with Hasan Ali taking 5-51 as Pakistan bowled England out for 257 runs within 46 overs. The batsmen however couldn’t back it up.

Babar Azam looked good for his 19 but got caught out by a beauty. Saud Shakeel top scored with 56 runs as the rest of the top six failed to get past 21 runs.

Imam-ul-Haq has struggled in English conditions and could make way for Abdullah Shafique for the final ODI. There could be other changes but Pakistan don’t have much in terms of experience on the batting side.
