Australia started the match on top and had their moments but fluffed their lines with the bat. They did make it interesting, but in the end, it was their poor batting that decided the contest. As we move to a high-scoring venue, I am backing this match to see a high first innings score. Keep an eye on the markets for a score more than 295 in the first innings. Mitchell Marsh top-scored with a breezy 81 off just 65 balls but his departure led to a collapse where they lost eight wickets for 59 runs. They even failed to utilise 14.2 overs.

With the ball, Mitchell Starc’s 3/49 and Marcus Stoinis’ 2/27 made sure that India were reduced to 39/4 and 83/5. Yet, they failed to break Jadeja & Rahul partnership eventually losing in the 40th over.

It was a much closer game than the final result showed in Mumbai. Australia have shown that they can push India in their backyard. That may once again be the case in Visakhapatnam. I am putting my money on individual players again with Siraj likely to be among the wickets once more.
