On the heels of an exciting month and half ODI action, India and Australia resume their rivalry in the T20I format. This time it’s a five-match bilateral series with the first match in Visakhapatnam on Friday. The venue is Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, with the match set to start at 7pm IST.

Regulars have been rested with T20 captain Hardik Pandya also missing out due to injury. That leaves Suryakumar Yadav as the interim captain, for the first time in his career.

Most of the players in the squad have been part of the gold-medal winning side in the Asian games with the likes of Ruturaj Gaikwad, Tilak Varma, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rinku Singh looking to further their claims for a regular berth.

The visitors don’t have a full-time T20 captain and Matthew Wade has been recalled, as an interim captain. The squad still has players from the ODI winning side like Travis Head, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Sean Abbott, Adam Zampa among others.

This could be a test of their longevity and concentration as the Aussies will be looking to find their best form at the end of a very long tour.
