India had a bit of scare against Sri Lanka in their last match but brushed them aside thanks to their superior bowling strength. With the final in sight and the upcoming World Cup combinations in mind, both teams could be looking at this game in a different perspective. I am backing the bowlers once again with my money on Kuldeep Yadav taking multiple wickets.

Head to Head

India and Bangladesh have played each other in 39 ODIs so far with India winning 31 and losing seven. The remaining one ODI ended without a result.

Interestingly though, Bangladesh have won two of the three ODIs they played when they last met in a series in 2022.

India Form

India won their first two Super Fours matches, thereby confirming their ticket to the final. They defeated Pakistan by 228 runs before brushing aside Sri Lanka by 41 runs in the second.

The success of their openers has been a big positive for India with Shubman Gill (154) and Rohit Sharma (194) enjoying a productive series so far.

It is the bowlers who have led the show though, as Kuldeep Yadav (nine wickets, ER 3.70) has been a revelation. The return of Jasprit Bumrah also augurs well.

With the ticket to the final booked, India could be thinking of resting the likes of Bumrah and Siraj to keep them fresh for the upcoming matches.

Bangladesh Form

Bangladesh are out of reckoning for the final following consecutive defeats in the Super Fours. They lost to Pakistan by seven wickets and then to Sri Lanka by 21 runs.

The absence of Najmul Hossain Shanto has dampened Bangladesh’s spirits as they missed his runs. There have been good contributions from Mehidy Hasan Miraz but their batters lacked consistency overall.

At least there are no such problems in the bowling front as the pace duo of Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam have led with 16 wickets between them.
