South Africa vs Australia Third T20I
Australia wasted no time in exhibiting their supremacy as they brushed aside South Africa to pocket the series with two straight wins. The visitors can now make it a whitewash as the series comes to an end with the third T20I at Kingsmead in Durban on Sunday, starting from 5:30 pm IST.

It was a complete performance from Australia in both matches as they showed their all-round dominance over South Africa. With the turnaround time so little, the only chance for the hosts is if the visitors make wholesale changes to the team, to test the other members. Even then, Australia seem to have the upper hand and all set to win another match easily. I am backing the visitors to win this match.
- South Africa have lost 6 of their last 7 matches (T20Is)
- South Africa have lost 8 of their last 10 home matches against Australia (T20Is)
- South Africa have lost their last 3 matches at this venue (T20Is)
- Australia have won their last 5 completed matches (T20Is)
- Mitchell Marsh has scored at least 51 runs in 6 of his last 8 innings for Australia (All Formats)
Head to Head
South Africa have played Australia in 24 T20Is so far with Australia winning 16 and South Africa winning the remaining eight. The record is poor off late with South Africa losing 11 of their last 15 T20Is against the Aussies.
South Africa Form
South Africa looked rusty playing after a long time and that showed in the two matches so far. Batting looked inadequate while the bowling looked bereft of ideas in both the games.
The Proteas posted totals of 115 and 164 in the series, which underline a problem with their batters. Rory Hendricks remains their only batter to score an individual fifty and the lack of application from the rest is a concern.
With the ball too, there isn’t much to write about with only Lizaad Williams (four wickets) shining. Yet, with an economy rate of 10.16, he remains their most economical bowler which highlights how poor their bowlers have been.
South Africa Team News
Marco Jansen missed the second match due to a wedding in the family. It remains to be seen if he comes back for this match. The likes of Donovan Ferreira will fancy their chances of a game, with the series now already lost.
Australia Form
Australia continued their total dominance with consecutive wins. Their new T20 template has worked well with captain Mitchell Marsh leading from the front.
Marsh has 171 runs in the series with two unbeaten fifties, while striking at a rate of 194.31. With key players having settled in nicely, the Aussies do not seem to have a problem.
There have been some interesting performances with the ball, as four bowlers have aggregated at least three wickets. Three of those bowlers have conceded below ten runs per over, which sums up their dominance.
Australia Team News
Australia made a few changes in the second ODI and that could continue here as well, now that the series has been clinched.
Verdict
Australia look a completely different side to South Africa in this series, completely dominating them in all departments. With so little time between the games, South Africa may struggle to lift themselves. I am backing Australia to win this match and make a clean sweep. Keep a small wager on Mitch Marsh notching up another fifty.
