Sri Lanka vs India 2nd ODI Preview & Tips

Shikhar Dhawan’s superb form continued in the 1st ODI as he scored an unbeaten 86 runs. The value is on him once again and we’re backing him to score 50+ for the fourth time in five matches.

India have won 10 of their last 11 ODI matches against Sri Lanka. In the 1st ODI of this series India won by seven wicket sin Colombo.

Sri Lanka’s horror ODI run continued on Sunday as they lost the 1st ODI by seven wickets to India in Colombo. That was their eighth defeat in their last nine 50-over matches.

Despite that, there were some positives for the hosts. Batting first they scored 262 runs but it was well below par given the quality of the pitch. Chamika Karunaratne top scored with 43 runs but perhaps more promising was the return of form of Avishka Fernando who scored 33 off 35 balls.

The total never troubled India in the slightest. The visitors cruised home by seven wickets with more than 13 overs to spare.

Sri Lanka showed signs of improvement in their last match. They will probably stick with the same side.

Captain Kusal Perera remains out with a shoulder injury.

India took a 1-0 lead in Colombo in the 1st ODI, beating Sri Lanka by seven wickets. They have now beaten their hosts in 10 of their last 11 ODI matches.

Deepak Chahar, Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav all took two wickets to restrict Sri Lanka to 262 runs on a very good batting surface.

In response, Prithvi Shaw smashed 43 off 24 balls and Ishan Kishan scored 59 off 42 balls. That gave the Indians the momentum they required while Shikhar Dhawan anchored the innings, scoring 86*. India won the match with more than 13 overs to spare.

India were very impressive in the 1st ODI and should look to continue with the same side. They will want to give Ishan Kishan a run but that may have to wait until the 3rd ODI after the batsmen all performed well.
