West Indies vs Australia 3rd T20 Preview & Tips

The West Indies have been the dominant side in the opening two matches of the series. With Australia’s batsmen struggling for runs and form, we are backing the hosts to clinch the series with a third straight win.

West Indies have won six of their last seven T20I matches against Australia. The West Indies lead the current series 2-0 after winning the 2nd T20I by 56 runs in Gros Islet.

The West Indies have put their 3-2 series loss to South Africa behind them by winning the first two T20Is against Australia.

In the 2nd T20I the West Indies batted first, scoring a very good 196 runs. Shimron Hetmyer top scored with 61 runs while Dwayne Bravo hit 47 runs. Andre Russell smashed 24 off just eight balls towards the end of the innings.

The hosts bowled exceptionally well to bowl Australia out for 140 runs. Hayden Walsh took 3-29 in his four overs to secure a 56-run victory.

With two superb wins the West Indies are in all likelihood going to stick to the same lineup.

Australia’s poor form continued in the 2nd T20I against the West Indies as they went down by 56 runs in Gros Islet. 

The bowlers all struggled as the Windies went on to score 196 runs for the loss of just four wickets in 20 overs. Mitchell Starc’s form has gone completely off the rails as he went for over 12 to the over.

The run chase was never really on despite Mitchell Marsh’s 54 runs. The next highest score was 19 by Moises Henriques.

Matthew Wade has struggled at the top of the order. There is pressure for Alex Carey to come in and fulfill the wicket-keeping duties.
