EPL Matchweek 28 Preview

Manchester City have put in a big gulf at the top between them and the chasing clubs, but there is so much to play for in the English Premier League. Newcastle are sliding towards the relegation zone and start this round just one point above the bottom-three although having played one game lesser. They are winless in four, while Villa have two wins, draws, and defeats each in their last six matches. Back Villa to put in a better shift and win this match.

Entertaining Leeds have lost four of their last five in the league and are looking a possible candidate for a mid-table finish. Chelsea revived their top-four hopes with a nine-match unbeaten run and should fancy their chances of extending it. They have also kept seven clean sheets during this nine-match run and another clean sheet looks on the way!

Palace aren’t yet into any relegation threat, but have not been convincing in their recent matches. West Brom look a different side with three clean sheets in their last four, but are struggling for goals. Back a low-scoring result in this match.

Everton lost to Chelsea in their last match, but still remain in control of their top-four hopes. Burnley have won only one of their last seven league games, although losing just one and drawing five. A draw looks a tempting choice, but expect Everton to put in a tough fight for a win.

Fulham gave their survival hopes a big boost with a win over Liverpool, but defeating the league leaders is definitely beyond them. Manchester City have won their last seven away league games and should add another win here. The winning margin could be narrow, though, with Fulham expected to give a good fight.

With nine losses in their last 11 league matches, Southampton are sleepwalking towards relegation places. Brighton are just above the relegation zone on goal difference, although with a game in hand. This could be a six-pointer dogfight and one that may not see many goals.

The Foxes are in the race for second position and will look to keep up the pressure on Manchester United with a win here. Bottom of the table Sheffield have lost five of their last six away games and could potentially slide into another loss here. This could see goals at both ends, though.

The North London derby will be the toast of this weekend fixtures with both teams struggling to stay in the European mix. Tottenham are slightly better off and start three points off top-five and three straight league wins. Arsenal are struggling to hold on to the top-10 places and have been inconsistent with three losses and two draws in their last seven games. Advantage Tottenham.

On a high after the derby win last weekend, United have been all over the place with their recent form. They have won just three of their last nine games, drawing five and losing one. West Ham have high ambitions of qualifying for top-four and arrive here with three wins in the last four matches. United’s Europa League exertions could also play to West Ham’s advantage, who will relish a chance to avenge a 3-1 loss at home earlier in the season to United. Expect an open game with goals at both ends.

Wolves are winless in three although losing just one of their last seven league matches. They haven’t scored a goal before half-time in any of their last six league matches. Liverpool have picked up a vital 2-0 win in the Champions League and will be desperate to carry that form to the league where they lost six of their last seven games. Back another slow start for the Wolves, while Liverpool could edge out with a win.
