Bengaluru and Hyderabad clash in the Indian Super League at Fatorda Stadium in Goa on Saturday. Bengaluru collected a point from their opening game, while Hyderabad were 1-0 winners over Odisha on Monday.
Bengaluru Form
Last season's semi-finalists, Bengaluru had to settle for a share of the points from a 2-2 draw in their opening game of the new season against Goa.
Brazilian winger Cleiton Silva and Spanish defender Juanan put Bengaluru 2-0 up with goals in each half. But Carles Cuadrat's side conceded twice in three minutes as an Igor Angulo double earned Goa a point.
Bengaluru finished third in the table last season and beat eventual champions ATK Mohun Bagan 1-0 in the first leg of their semi-final. But a 3-1 loss in the second leg ended their title hopes.
Bengaluru Team News
Jamaican forward Deshorn Brown and Spanish midfielder Dimas Delgado had to make do with a place on the bench against Goa. The pair are likely to be bit-part players again.
Hyderabad Form
Hyderabad made a winning start to the season under new coach Manuel Roca as they defeated Odisha 1-0 on Monday. Aridane's penalty proved the difference between the two sides.
It was a welcome start to the campaign for Hyderabad, who had finished their debut season in the ISL bottom of the table with only two wins in 2019/20.
Having broken a 14-game winless run with a 5-1 victory over NorthEast United in their final game of the season, can Hyderabad now make it three ISL wins in a row for the first time?
Hyderabad Team News
Manuel Roca is expected to name an unchanged side following the win over Odisha.
Overseas recruits Spainsh forward Fran Sandaza and Australian striker Joel Chianese played no part against Odisha, but could come onto the bench.
Bengaluru vs Hyderabad Head to Head
These two sides met for the first time in the Indian Super League last year. The first clash ended in a 1-1 draw before Bengaluru took the points with a 1-0 win at home thanks to Nishu Kumar's goal.
