Chennaiyin Form
Chennaiyin made it four games unbeaten when holding ATK Mohun Bagan to a 0-0 draw in a rematch of last season's ISL final.
That stalemate followed draws with NorthEast United (0-0) and East Bengal (2-2), a game in which they led twice through Lallianzuala Chhangte and Rahim Ali goals.
The unbeaten run also includes a 2-1 win over Goa with Ali getting the winner in that game. Brazilian Rafael Crivellaro also scored in that victory.
The four-game run without defeat followed successive losses to Bengaluru and Mumbai City.
Csaba Lazlo's Chennaiyin side have also beaten Jamshedpur 2-1 and drawn with Kerala Blasters this season.
Hyderabad Form
Hyderabad's early season promise has disapated in recent weeks with a five-game unbeaten start to the season ended by three successive defeats.
Manuel Roca's started the season with a 1-0 win over Odisha and also defeated East Bengal 3-2 in an entertaining game.
Sandwiched between those wins were three successive draws against Bengaluru (0-0), Jamshedpur (1-1) and ATK Mohun Bagan (1-1).
But the wheels have come off somewhat with three straight losses with 2-0 defeats to Mumbai City and Kerala Blasters followed by a 2-1 defeat to Goa most recently.
Hyderabad led courtesy of Aridane's 58th minute goal and looked set for all three points. But they conceded twice in the last three minutes to lose for the third game running.
Team News
Chennaiyin should be unchanged. Striker Isma is expected to make his comeback from a hamstring injury, but will be on the bench. Fatkhullo Fatkhulloev should start alongside him on the substitutes bench once again.
Hyderabad's attacking midfielder Roland Alberg will come into contention for his first appearance since signing on loan from Roda.
Fran Sandaza, Lluis Sastre and Joel Chianese all returned from injury for Hyderabad in the defeat to Goa and give Manuel Roca a selection headache over which five overseas players to start.
Head to Head
Chennaiyin won both games last season during Hyderabad's debut campaign in the Indian Super League. A 2-1 win at home was followed by a 3-1 win at Hyderabad.
