Kerala Blasters Form

Kerala Blasters parted ways with manager Kibu Vicuna after the 4-0 defeat to Hyderabad on Tuesday.

It was the latest chapter in a sorry season for the Tuskers. They had already been eliminated from finals contention prior to the latest loss.

The Blasters are winless in six games and have lost three of their last four.

A point from a 2-2 draw with Odisha in a bottom of the table clash sits alongside defeats to the top two sides ATK Mohun Bagan and Mumbai City.

Kerala Blasters Team News

Interim head coach Ishfaq Ahmed will take charge of the Blasters following the sacking of Kibu Vicuna.

Playmaker Facundo Pereyra is set to return to the side after injury.

Young midfielder Ayush Adhikari made his first appearance of the season from the bench against Hyderabad and could be handed a start.

Centre-back Sandeep Singh is out serving a one-game ban, so Kerala will need a reshuffle at the back.

Chennaiyin Form

Last season's beaten finalists won't be playing in the post-season this year with back-to-back draws ending their top four hopes.

The Marina Machans conceded late goals in a 2-2 draw with Goa and a 3-3 stalemate with NorthEast United to end their playoff aspirations.

Lallianzuala Chhangte scored twice against NorthEast and Manuel Lanzarote netted a penalty. But Chennaiyin conceded a 94th minute penalty.

It brought Chennaiyin's draw count up to 10 in 19 games this season, and the inability to turn them into wins has cost Csaba Lazlo's side.

With just 16 goals in 19 games, Chennaiyin's problems have been in attack. They have failed to score in 10 of their 19 matches.

Chennaiyin Team News

Anirudh Thapa made his return from injury as a second-half substitute against NorthEast United.

Expect him to start in the Chennaiyin midfield for the final game of the season.

Head to Head

Chennaiyin hold a 6-3 head to head advantage over Kerala Blasters. There have also been six draws between the sides.

Chennaiyin won two high-scoring matches last season 3-1 and 6-3 last season. But it was a share of the points from a 0-0 draw earlier this campaign.

Predictions

Both sides are out of finals contention and playing for pride. Neither have won for some time, but they have been churning out draws and high-scoring games.

That is the best bet again with a share of the points predicted along with over 3.5 goals.

  • Kerala Blasters have drawn 3 of their last 6 matches (Indian Super League).
  • Kerala Blasters have seen over 2.5 goals in their last 4 matches (Indian Super League).
  • Kerala Blasters have seen over 3.5 goals in 3 of their last 4 matches (Indian Super League).
  • Kerala Blasters have seen over 3.5 goals in 2 of their last 3 matches against Chennaiyin (Indian Super League).
