NorthEast United Form

NorthEast United have slipped to seventh place in the standings, one below opponents Bengaluru, after a run of one point from their last four games.

The Highlanders are on a run of six games without a win, and come into this crucial fixture on the back of two straight losses.

Gerard Nus' side were beaten 2-0 defeat by high-flying ATK Mohun Bagan after a Roy Krishna strike and an own goal from VP Suhair.

They were on the wrong end of a six-goal thriller four days ago when going down 4-2 to Hyderabad. Two goals late in the first-half from Federico Gallego and Benjamin Lambot levelled for NorthEast, but they conceded twice again after the break.

Since last winning at the start of December, NorthEast have also drawn with Bengaluru (2-2), Chennaiyin (0-0) and Odisha (2-2) and lost to Jamshedpur (1-0).

NorthEast United Team News

NorthEast United are still without forward Kwesi Appiah with no date yet set for his return from injury.

After conceding four goals in the last game, defender Dylan Fox is likely to be recalled to the starting line-up at the expense of Luis Machado or Federico Gallego.

Bengaluru Form

Interim coach Naushad Moosa was unable to turn around Bengaluru's fortunes in his first game in charge as his side lost 1-0 to East Bengal on Saturday.

Marco Steinmann's goal inflicted a fourth straight loss on Bengaluru, who had sacked coach Carles Cuadrat after the first three of those.

They have lost 1-0 to ATK Mohun Bagan and Jamshedpur and suffered a 3-1 defeat to Mumbai City.

Bengaluru have failed to score from open play in their last four games. The goal against Mumbai City came via a Sunil Chhetri penalty when his side trailled 2-0.

The Blues had started the season with a six-game unbeaten run, but have dropped out of the top four to sixth in the table.

Bengaluru Team News

Naushad Moosa brought midfielder Erik Paartalu back for the defeat to East Bengal and opted to leave out forwards Deshorn Brown and Kristian Opseth.

Brown or Opseth are likely to return in the search for goals. Defenders Fran Gonzalez and Harmanjot Khabra missed the last game. Khabra will be back from suspension.

Head to Head

These two sides met in December when they played out an entertaining 2-2 draw. Luis Machado opened the scoring for NorthEast United and earned his side a point from a late equaliser. In between, Juanan and Udanta scored for Bengaluru.

Bengaluru hold a 5-1 head to head advantage over NorthEast United with three draws. Two of the stalemates have come in the last three clashes.
