NorthEast United finished ninth of the 10 teams in the ISL last season. They started with a six-game unbeaten run, but won just two games all season and failed to win any of their last 14 games of the campaign.
That run included eight defeats and six draws, while they signed off a disappointing season with a 2-2 stalemate with eventual Indian Super League runners-up Channaiyin.
Coach Robert Jani was sacked before the final three games, and has since been replaced by Spaniard Gerard Nus.

Spanish coach Sergio Lobera has been appointed in place of Jorge Costa and has been charged with taking Mumbai to the play-offs this season.

Nigerian forward Bartholomew Ogbeche will again be key, and they have added striker Adam Le Fondre on-loan from Sydney FC.
Diego Carlos, Mato Grgic, Serge Kevyn, Paulo Machado, Modou Sougou, Amine Chermiti and Mohamed Larbi have all left.
The overseas roles are filled by former FC Goa defender Mourtada Fall and midfielders Cy Goddard, Hernan Santana and Hugo Boumous, signed on loan from Benevento, on loan from Sporting Gijon and FC Goa respectively.
