Kerala Blasters and NorthEast United meet in the second round of fixtures in the Indian Super League on Thursday. Kerala Blasters lost their season opener 1-0, while NorthEast United were on the right end of the same scoreline as they made a winning start.

Kerala Blasters Form

Kerala Blasters lost their opening game - and the first game of the new Indian Super League season - when going down 1-0 to reigning champions ATK Mogun Bagan last Friday.

There was no fairytale start for new coach Spaniard Kibu Vicuna as his side lost to ATK with Roy Krishna getting the only goal of the game in the 67th minute.

Kerala, who missed out on the ISL play-offs last season after finishing seventh in the table, dominated possession but failed to muster up a single shot on target. It is now just one win in the last seven games for Kerala.

Kerala Blasters Team News

Argentine forward Facundo Pereyra, signed from Apollon Limassol, was left on the bench against ATK. After getting just four minutes late in the game, he should come into the starting line-up alongside Gary Hooper in attack.

Australian midfielder Jordan Murray also got a brief 15-minute cameo and will come into the frame for a start.

NorthEast United Form

NorthEast United left last season's struggles behind them as they made a winning start to the ISL campaign with a 1-0 victory over Mumbai City on Saturday.

New coach Gerard Nus inherited a side which had failed to win any of their final 14 games of last season. But NorthEast United were impressive defensively in their victory over Mumbai, who failed to register a shot on target.

NorthEast were well drilled by Nus and got their rewards as Ghanaian striker Kwesi Appiah slotted home a penalty early in the second half.

Nus is unlikely to make changes with Guinea forward Idrissa Sylla and Uruguayan midfielder Federico Gallego set to be on the bench once again.
