Two teams at the top of their form – Sydney Thunder and Perth Scorchers – will meet in this match #34 of the Big Bash League 2019-20 at the Optus Stadium in Perth.

Sydney Thunder are the ‘form team’ of the competition winning six of their last seven matches. They have been very impressive with the bat as three players have already scored 200+ runs – Callum Ferguson (244), Alex Hales (264), and Usman Khawaja (213).

Tanveer Sangha’s emergence in this year's competition (15 wickets, ER 7.22) has been the major talking point, while Nathan McAndrew (10 wickets) and Chris Green (12) have also been amongst the wickets.

Allrounder Daniel Sams has been ruled out once again as a result of the concussion he suffered against the Heat in Brisbane. Alex Ross returned from an injury last match after missing five in a row and should once again be available for selection.

It could be home comforts for the Scorchers that could make a difference in the final analysis. Whatever is the result, look out for the six-hitting Thunder to steal a march over their opponents.
